A waterproof, durable, and non-toxic material, vernum creates an effect that is almost sculpture-like. If that sounds overly stiff or formal, though, the word “hubane” is Estonian for “cozy.” Even though some of his fits look like they’re out of some dystopian horror flick. Today I am sharing some of the work of one of my favorite interior designers, Brooke Wagner Design. Lasting natural materials show off the warm side of new construction.

Janet quickly learned her own craft and practiced techniques to transform her now, loyal clientele. Brushed white oak floors, island pendant lights, and gilded fixtures infuse warmth into the space, while a white zellige backsplash (that extends to the hood) and a wood-paneled ceiling add texture. A pair of picture windows allow plenty of natural light to stream into the room, which has a SubZero fridge hidden in the cabinetry. When she isn’t creating new looks for Be.NYLA, her work expands in a wide range of projects from film, tv, fashion, web, print and commercial.

The main level encompasses mainly shared living spaces, which includes the great room, dining room, and kitchen. Deploys materials Francis calls “100 percent real,” such as natural elements like leather and skins. Francis also believes in using his art to create community by collaborating with his favorite garment makers and designers in New York. The gender-neutral streetwear brand features pieces made from natural, eco-certified materials as well as scrap fabrics. Gage combines sustainability and ethical fashion with individualism. Inspired by the midwestern landscape she grew up in, Gage leans into fringes, embroidery, and self-made patterns, which can be seen on almost every Melke garment.

The exterior facade is composed of a combination of materials including clear heart cedar, lime-washed brick, white horizontal siding, along with a standing seam metal roof. A warm material palette and a gathering space in the entry create a welcoming feel on this corner lot.

He then attended Fashion Institute of Technology to study fashion design and to master pattern making, draping, and womenswear with the occasional menswear. The designer and her team worked closely with Beckwith Builders senior architect Aimee Bentley to make the space feel both "timeless and functional," Wagner notes. That called for embracing the patina and character of finishes, like unlacquered brass and reclaimed wood beams, and folding in more durable elements, including polished Emerstone countertops that are very easy to clean and maintain. This fabulous home boasts several balconies and courtyards to encourage indoor-outdoor living, making the most of this sensational corner lot that is just a couple of blocks from the beach.
